New Year, New you! If you are looking to get into running, this is the group for you! We’ll provide the experienced coaches, strength and form techniques to keep you injury free, and the encouragement; you provide the positive attitude and readiness to make your running goals a reality.  A Raven Run Club tech shirt and discounted entry ($5 off) to the Shamrock Shuffle 5k are included in your registration! Limited group size for individualized attention. Practices last 75 minutes on weekdays and up to 2 hours on Saturday.

Start the year off on the right foot. You have fitness goals and our experienced coaches are here to help you reach them. Tuesdays & Thursdays will include running workouts. Saturdays will be long slow distance. You will also receive a Raven Run Club tech shirt with registration. Practices last 75 minutes on weekdays.

HIGHTAIL HALF TRAINING GROUP

Session Runs:
April 29, 2020 to July 18, 2020 (12 weeks)

Cost:
$160 ($125 for Hightail Half Participants)

This Group Meets for 90 minutes sessions:
Wednesdays, 6:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.
@ The Park Strip, local tracks, and bike paths

Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.
@ Skinny Raven Sports Downtown

Do you want to join fellow ladies training for the Hightail Half Marathon? Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome. No matter what your goals are, you will be guided to success by Skinny Raven’s expert coaches.

Your training package includes a training program, 2 coached sessions a week, a training group tank by Brooks, and a water bottle from Nathan Hydration. The group is limited to 150 participants. So register early if you would like to join the fun! Sign up for training group BEFORE signing up for race event registration to get discount. If you have already registered for the event and want to join the group, email the coaches for the discounted rate.

You can train with the group even if you aren’t planning on running the race.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s practice like?
Weekday workouts: Typical practice starts with showing up and running a few laps to warm up. We regroup for range of motion stretching, drills and strides. There’s a few minutes to go to bathroom and take off layers and then we explain and start the running workout. After the workout, we cool down and regroup for strength work and stretching as time allows. Sessions last about 75 minutes.

Saturday Long Runs: For long runs we start from Skinny Raven Downtown. We will put a map out and go based off minutes instead of miles. *New runners- Our goal is to work on getting you used to being on your feet longer. We don’t expect you to run the whole time if you are at that level yet. Work on building up the run walk ratio. Beginners will be starting with 30-45 minutes and work up from there. More experienced runners will start with an hour and build up.

I’m not a runner. Am I too slow?
If you can put one foot in front of the other then no, you’re not too slow! Our groups are ALL-ABILITY LEVELS, coaches will adjust workouts and build up your training through the program.

Can I Switch between AM & PM Sessions?
Definitely, we just ask to get an idea of the group sizes. Feel free to switch between the sessions as needed.
