The event will stage from the Bear Tooth Grill parking lot. The start and finish line will be on 27th Ave.

The event will start at 9:30 a.m. and will remain open for 5 minutes. Please start in this timeframe so we can avoid as much two-way traffic as possible when our fastest runners rejoin the roads from West High Hill.

There will be a bag drop on the stage in the Theatre. You can leave warm or dry clothes there while you are out on course.

The Shamrock Shuffle starts on 27th Ave. towards Spenard Road It turns left there, going north to Hillcrest Drive where you take a left. Follow Hillcrest Drive to Forrest Park Drive and go right. Take another right on Wood Worth Circle and follow the hill down to the Coastal Trail. Go right on the bridge, take your next right by Westchester Lagoon onto the Chester Creek Trail. Before you go through the first tunnel you see, take a right up the West High Hill where you will find yourself back at Hillcrest Drive. Go left and reverse your earlier running back to the Bear Tooth.

The Shamrock Shuffle helps Running Free Alaska by providing a platform to fundraise for and raise awareness of this life-changing program. Running Free Alaska is an organization that provides running opportunities to women who are currently or have been incarcerated at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center, the only women’s prison in Alaska. Their mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of Alaskan women who are incarcerated through a structured running program and to provide running-related support after release.  Running Free Alaska believes that the simplicity of running helps people live their best lives.

Parking for the Shamrock Shuffle is available at West High School.

-The old La Mex building at Spenard Rd. and 26th Ave. best accessed from Minnesota Dr.
-The south Chilkoot Charlie’s parking lot between 27th and 26th Avenues off of Spenard Rd. best accessed from Arctic Blvd
*Easy access to these lots will be impacted starting at 7:30 a.m. by Spenard Rd course closures as the race start approaches.

Awards will be presented in the theatre beginning at 10:15 a.m. We will also have some door prizes to toss out to the crowd. The top 3 men, women, and non-binary overall will earn a prize and awards. Age class men and women winners will earn a Bear Tooth gift card. Age classes: men and women 1-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Top 3 overall will be based on gun time, while age class awards will be based on chip time.

For participant safety, and to comply with our insurance, no pets, bicycles, or rollerblades are allowed in the race. Participants with baby joggers or strollers are asked to start in the back of the field and to be courteous to your fellow participants.
