Turkey Trot

11.23.2017

2017 REGISTRATION AND RACE INFORMATION COMING SOON!

In 2015, Turkey Trotters donated 1,158 pounds of food and $7500 to the Food Bank which provided 30,000 meals to hungry Alaskans. We will again be collecting food items and matching cash donations up to $1,000 this year to help make sure everyone has a great Thanksgiving! It is our goal to collect 1,500 pounds of food in 2016!

This year we will again be staging and finishing inside the Dena’ina Convention Center so you can stay warm and toasty when you’re not running. Returning is the 1-loop 5K for the big turkeys and a 1-loop 3K for those mini turkeys out there

Awards

Awards will start at 11:45 A.M.
Turkey Trot age class winners and the top 3 10 and under in the Mini Turkey will win a fresh, homemade pie from A Pie Stop! Check your time on the awards kiosk after you run and maybe you will save yourself some baking! Awards will be as efficient and short as possible, we know everyone has other obligations.

Age Classes

1-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ for both men and women. The top 3 girls and boy unders 10 in the Mini Turkey will also win a pie. There aren’t any age class awards for the Mini Turkey. If you are not there to get your pie it will be raffled off so it doesn’t go to waste.

Bag Drop

Open at 9:30 A.M., it will close promptly at 10:45 A.M.
If you wish, you can leave a warm coat inside at the finish of the race. We will be collecting them inside the Dena’ina Center. Look for the big “Bag Drop” sign when you arrive.

Parking

Downtown Parking Garages and Streets
This is a large event and we will close the roads of the race course at 9 A.M. There is plenty of parking in the downtown parking garages and on the downtown streets. There is NO parking along 9th and 10th Avenue against the Park Strip. We ask you to respect the no parking signs along the course route. Please help us be good neighbors to the residences south of 10th Avenue and respect their parking as well. It’s their Thanksgiving Day too.

Safety Policy

For participant safety, and to comply with our insurance, no pets, bicycles, or rollerblades are allowed in the race. Participants running with baby joggers or strollers are asked to start in the back of the field and to be courteous to your fellow runners.

*Registration fees are non-refundable. Fees can be deferred to any other Skinny Raven event prior to race day.*
