The Oktoberfest Returns, but at an awesome new location and a fun new course. Staged from the recently revamped 49th State Brewing facility and The Rail tasting room, you'll tour the Ship Creek area roads and bike paths on a mostly flat course before returning for pretzels and fun!

Packet Pick Up

Come before event day to get your shirt and bib. It’s always nice to save yourself from standing in line before the start. Virtual participants - You can request your packet be mailed when you register. 2026 packet pick up times announced soon!

In-Person Event

Join us for fall fun and festivities. We're excited for a new location and course that means more room and more fun. Get your run and walk on before enjoying a pretzel or tasty beverage from 49th State. You can do it while helping us support Covenant House Alaska!

Location & Course Map

Both the 5K and 10K start together on Depot Dr. They follow 1st Ave, Cordova St, and Ship Creek Ave to Post Road. There you take a left, before turning left down the ramp to the Ship Creek Trail.

The 5K continues west on the Ship Creek Trial to just short of the Wingate hotel where you run through a dirt parking lot to re-join Ship Creek Ave, then return to the finish via Cordova, 1st Ave, and Depot Drive.

For the 10K, once you join the Ship Creek Trail, you will run and out-and-back on the trail to William Tyson Elementary School before returning the same way as the 5K.

There will be a little bit of a walk or jog from parking access down to the race venue. There is a lot of parking in Downtown Anchorage streets and garages. Meters are free on Saturdays, but the 2 hour limit is enforced. There will be no event parking accessed from Depot Dr. or the Alaska Railroad Depot parking lot on 1st Ave.

Use the walk down to warm up, but be sure to give yourself enough time!

Virtual Event

A virtual run/walk is an event that you can complete anytime or anyplace during a specified period! The best part of a virtual event is convenience – you decide what works best for you.

The timeframe to complete your run is still TBD. We’ll have that info soon. Get out on the trails or your favorite neighborhood loop and don’t forget to post a selfie on our Facebook Page when you have completed your run. We’d love to see your costumes!

Easy steps to having an awesome virtual event:

Log into your RunSignup profile and view and/or download your personalized virtual bib for a keepsake and for your day pass to The Alaska Club. Virtual bib numbers will be assigned shortly before the event begins
Complete your distance! You can run your favorite route on the trails, in your neighborhood, at the gym, or under the late night sunset.
Post your finish. You can do this from the manual results upload at this link. (Using this method, you can indicate that you finished, but choose not to input your time)
- Or you can use the RaceJoy app. This fun app allows you to:
- Automatically track your progress and distance on any course you choose.
- Automatically post your results to the online event results
- Allow your family and friends to track your progress and send you cheers.
- Hear GPS progress alerts and pre-set cheers as you complete along your route

Join us for packet pickup Or select a shipping method and your bib and shirt packet will be mailed to you. You can select or change a shipping method after the fact by managing your registration by August 30th.

We will begin mailing packets to virtual participants who request shipping the week of the event.
