This Oktoberfest event is in partnership with 49th State Brewing. We're bringing you a celebration of German culture that'll leave you hopping with joy. From scrumptious pretzels & cheese, savory sausages, and even Turkish doner kebab. Thirsty after all the fun? There's no better way to quench it than with local specialty crafted brews!

What better way to celebrate fall than the traditions of Oktoberfest than a good workout and food and fun with friends.

49th State Oktoberfest

Join 49th State Brewing at their Downtown Anchorage Pub’s Beer Garden to celebrate Oktoberfest the German way on Saturday, September 13th starting at 11am.

Join them after you finish for a family-friendly and dog-friendly Oktoberfest celebration featuring live German music from Alaska Blaskapelle, a German food menu, special German-style beer releases by the stein, epic beer festival competitions, llamas from Last Frontier Trail Llamas, a high energy late-night dance party by the legendary DJ Mancat, and more!

49th State is graciously sharing their event space with us in the morning, so you can celebrate right after you finish or come back any time until 11pm to join them at their own Oktoberfest festivities. Their event details are HERE.

In-Person Event

Join us for fall fun and festivities. Check in at The 49th State if you still need your bib. The event starts on 2nd Avenue for a beautiful fall out-and-and back along the coast. When your done head back up to 49th State for tasty beverages and mouth watering food. Want to rest up right after the event, head home then come back for 49th State Brewing's own Oktoberfest featuring a live traditional German band, games, more family fun.

Location & Course Map

Once you’re finished you can head right into the 49th State Oktoberfest beer garden. Our participants will have a special entrance on the downhill side of the beer garden and you can bring freinds or family who might be there to support you in this gate as well. We will be checking IDs there and you will get 21+ or a under 21 wrist band. You will not have to pay the 49th states $5 gate fee at this entrance.

If you want a 49th State Oktoberfest stein (they have 1100 to give out) you must buy their $5 ticket and enter through the main gate on the uphill side of the beer garden. You can do that at the gate or buy a ticket online HERE

Our event starts at 11am, the 49th State’s gates open at 11am so we’ll be sharing the post event fun! Click here for more info!

There will be a lederhosen contest, pretzels, sausage, and Turkish doner (yes, there’s a large Turkish population in Germany), and fun prizes.

Virtual Event

A virtual run/walk is an event that you can complete anytime or anyplace during a specified period! The best part of a virtual event is convenience – you decide what works best for you.

The timeframe to complete your run is September 6th – 13th. Get out on the trails or your favorite neighborhood loop and don’t forget to post a selfie on our Facebook Page when you have completed your run. We’d love to see your costumes!

Easy steps to having an awesome virtual event:

Log into your RunSignup profile and view and/or download your personalized virtual bib for a keepsake and for your day pass to The Alaska Club. Virtual bib numbers will be assigned on May 25th.
Complete your distance! You can run your favorite route on the trails, in your neighborhood, at the gym, or under the late night sunset.
Post your finish. You can do this from the manual results upload at this link. (Using this method, you can indicate that you finished, but choose not to input your time)
- Or you can use the RaceJoy app. This fun app allows you to:
- Automatically track your progress and distance on any course you choose.
- Automatically post your results to the online event results
- Allow your family and friends to track your progress and send you cheers.
- Hear GPS progress alerts and pre-set cheers as you complete along your route

Join us for packet pickup Or select a shipping method and your bib and shirt packet will be mailed to you. You can select or change a shipping method after the fact by managing your registration by August 30th.

We will begin mailing packets to virtual participants who request shipping the week of the event.
