Join us and millions of Americans on the most popular running and walking day of the year! Gather your friends and family for the holiday and run, walk, jog, or hobble on an iconic course through downtown Anchorage. With a 5K or a 3K, we have a distance for everyone. Stick around as we give age class winner a fresh pie, then head off to your Thanksgiving dinner!
Food Bank
The Food Bank of Alaska is hosting their annual Thanksgiving blessing food distribution ahead of the holiday this year. They served 12,000 Alaskan Families in Anchorage and the Mat-Su in 2024, roughly 1500 more families than 2023. Additionally, the costs for the event have increased a staggering 35%. In total, this two-day food distribution event cost almost half a million dollars. Ultimately donations have dropped and the food need is up, so we, along with our partner organizations, are struggling to meet the need.
While every additional donation through the Turkey Trot registration page goes directly to the Food Bank of Alaska, if you would like to donate directly to them or find other ways to support this critical organization, visit www.foodbankofalaska.org. Thank you for for support!
Food Drive
We’ll be taking non-perishable food donations at either Skinny Raven from November 1st through November 26th. Bring in a donation and be entered to win a pair of super grippy Icebug studded footwear. Look for the red barrels and ask a staff member for a ticket. We’ll have extra capacity at the bib pickups to receive your goods right at the bib pickup tables! For a list of the most needed items click here.
2025 goal: $15000 and 1000 pounds of food!
We have some great gifts for reaching fund raising goals!
Individual Goal: Raise $500 or more and be entered into a drawing for a pair of Skinny Raven shoes!

Thankful for Icebugs!
The snow and ice has descended and we are excited to announce that Icebug is joining us again as our official Turkey Trot winter shoe partner. Running, walking, snowblowing, or shoveling, Icebug has the trusted sure-footed grip to keep you upright and moving safely this winter.

Downtown Parking Garages and Streets
This is a large event and we will close the roads of the race course at 9 A.M. There is plenty of parking in the downtown parking garages and on the downtown streets. There is NO parking along 9th and 10th Avenue against the Park Strip. We ask you to respect the no parking signs along the course route. Please help us be good neighbors to the residences south of 10th Avenue and not over run their parking. It’s their Thanksgiving Day too. Parking Garages are indicated on the course map.
For participant safety, and to comply with our insurance, no pets, bicycles, or rollerblades are allowed in the race. Participants with baby joggers or strollers are asked to start in the back of the field and to be courteous to your fellow participants.
Participant Caps Due to the parking available we are limiting this years Turkey Trot to 2000 in-person registrants. This ensures we don’t have a problem with overloading our parking area. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate exactly what the capacity of our venue is.
